Liz's First Time

Trip Advsior

A common question I get when someone finds out I like to ghost hunt is 'how did you get into the paranormal?'

I worked with a couple of guys who founded Southern Utah Paranormal.  I can't remember how it got brought up, but a couple of coworkers and I decided to tag along.  I was pretty skeptical at first but wanted to put my skepticisms aside and see what ghost hunting was like.

We went to a very old log cabin at a museum called Frontier State Park.  It is a one-room cabin with a bed, some furniture, and a fireplace.  I sat in front of the fireplace, a co-worker sat next to me, and then a few other people were scattered around the room.  There were a lot of questions asked, a lot of silence in return, and my skepticism was sticking around.  There were a few "suspicious" noises but we attributed them mostly to cars we could hear outside, wind, and other things.

I can't remember the question that was asked.  However, it was very, very quiet, but very clear:  A little girl behind me said "Hello."   I wasn't going to say anything, thinking maybe I imagined it, waiting for someone else.  But I was too excited, so I did ask if anyone else had heard anything.  The co-worker next to me said "I think I heard something" and I was shocked that she hadn't heard it as clear as I had.  Others said they thought they also heard something, or nothing.

The really cool thing is that after we went through our recordings, someone picked up the girl's voice! I knew that it wasn't just my imagination!  That got me interested in the paranormal and that perhaps there's more to it then we think.

If you have a really cool experience, share it the comments below!  Also, any questions are welcome, as well as suggestions for other posts!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The format of this blog will go like this:  One week, I will feature a device commonly used by ghost hunters.  I will share what it is, what it's used for, my experience (if any) with it, and where you can find it.

Another week, I'll share experiences I've personally had.  This is where YOU come in!  If you'd like to share your own experiences, PLEASE DO!  I would love to highlight your stories, because while mine might be cool, I love hearing about others'!

And finally, I'll share ghost hunting tips.  Questions from you would be fantastic, and I'll even do a Q & A post!  I'll share questions you could ask, being respectful, being patient, and when to get out.

That's about it!  Share anything below and thanks for reading!
